I have succed into reproducing the bug. It come when I upload this video: [^]

I add with "add a clip", drag it to the timeline, and when I click the little green bar on the top to choose the render zone, it crash.

I can confirm the crash with the file mentioned in the previous comment.
 The following command works:
 melt tristan2.ogv
But this one crashes without useful backtrace:
 melt colour:red in=0 out=20 -track tristan2.ogv
I also tried to transcode the ogv file using the "Fix Ogg Theora" transcoding option from Kdenlive, but the crash is still here with transcoded file.
However, the original ogv file somehow seems corrupted (see info about stream #0.0), so maybe the crash is caused by a broken file, more sample videos would be welcome.
FFMpeg reports this about the ogv file (note the broken stream #0):
[theora @ 0x9fee2d0]7 bits left in packet 82
 [ogg @ 0x9fc47e0]max_analyze_duration reached
 Input #0, ogg, from 'tristan2.ogv':
     ENCODER : ffmpeg2theora 0.21
   Duration: 00:00:24.44, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 459 kb/s
Stream #0.0: Invalid Codec type -1
     Stream #0.1: Video: theora, yuv420p, 320x192, 59.94 fps, 59.94 tbr, 59.94 tbn, 59.94 tbc
     Stream #0.2: Audio: vorbis, 48000 Hz, stereo, s16, 80 kb/s
And here is the FFMpeg info about the transcoded file:
[theora @ 0x9e12b20]7 bits left in packet 82
 Input #0, ogg, from 'tristan2.ogv.ogv':
     ENCODER : ffmpeg2theora 0.21
