Summary0002913: Exchange of Render > Generate script > File Dialog to a standard full featured one?
DescriptionHi Jean-Baptiste,

is it possible (with low effort) to exchange the file dialog (Render > Generate Script) by a standard full featured one like opening or saving projects (KDE/GNome Style)?

This will help to name the script the same as the project file. I always use external melt render scripts.

The logic behind the dialog may be retained (automatic preselection of script names like But there should be a file filter like * to be able to select an existing project file and rename the extension from .kdenlive to .sh

What do you think about this?

Ok, I just committed a change. Now the script will automatically get the name of the current project file, and you can also choose another location to save it, but remember that if you save it outside of kdenlive/scripts, it will not appear on the list of scripts in the "Scripts tab" of the render widget. Please test

perfect! But there is a little bug.

With the new file dialog which can be opened by clicking on the button right of the filename field it is only possible to select or name existing files. When you enter a new name then the error message "The file ... could not be found" appears. The error message box title is "Cannot open file". This dialog is working like an file opening dialog. There must be one which allows saving new names.

The simple dialog is working as usual perfectly.

How you realized my feature request is perfect! The new filename proposal "Projectname" followed by _xxx 3 digit number is perfect.

Hope there is no other use who is missing the prior solution.
Thank you!

Best regards,

The way it works now seems more intuitive. I just fixed the small issue you mentionned, and closing this issue now.
