|Summary||0003188: Sans Serif will be replaced by DejaVu Sans|
|Description||When I open an existing project with titles, I get the error shown in the attached picture. |
Sans Serif will be replaced by DejaVu Sans
|Steps To Reproduce||1.Open Kdenlive|
2.make a title with default text
|Additional Information||Sans Serif font should be changed to DejaVu Sans or any free font. Otherwise, there should be a "Default" font which will auto-select a sans-serif font.|

|It's been 6 months, 2 reinstallations of Ubuntu/kdenlive, and no update on this issue. The fonts are present but this is an error with kdenlive.|

I get this same error (ver 0.9.8). Quite anoying but has no impact as far as I can see. It seems to a spurious error. My titles are "DejaVu Sans" but when Kdenlive opens the project it complains about "Sans Serfif" and that it will convert them to "DejaVu Sans". So it seems to me that kdenlive is miss-idenfifying the fonts on load as "Sans Serfif".
I don't have this problem (maybe Pango related?)
The only occurence of "Sans" was in dynamictext effect file, just replaced with DejaVu.
Solved on your side?
|It is still a problem.|
I have also experienced this issue - what is interesting is if you look in the titles you can see that the font is indeed set to sans serif. I found that if I changed the font to something else (like ubuntu), saved the project and then saved it back, then the font was written away correctly.
I believe this issue would probably be caused by some hardcoded default font type of issue. I can't say for sure because I haven't looked at the code. I would guess that the saving of font information for the title is only done if the interface detects a change - again - my guess about this.
Anyway - Once you have saved the font out, and then resaved it then it appears to no longer be an option.
to clarify my previous comment: My workaround steps are :
1. Load title up in kden live
2. select text - change font to ubuntu.
3. save title, save project (basically save everything).
At this stage I quit out of kdenlive...
4. Load kden live project again - font warning should be gone
5. re-edit titles to reset the font to Deja Sans serif (or whatever you prefer)
6. save away -
7. Project can now be loaded without issue
This is probably due to a bug that existed in previous Qt versions.
Can you open your kdenlive config file:
You should find a line like this:
Replace "Sans Serif" with "DejaVu Sans" and your problem should go away.
Another possibility is to delete the kdenlive config file and restart Kdenlive. The problem might go away.
If the problem is still here, can you tell me which Qt version you are using ? Can be found with:
It would appear I fixed this using computa_mikes suggestion. My kdenliverc has a
QMake version 2.01a
Using Qt version 4.8.6 in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
