Summary0000033: 16/9 DV movies exported as 4/3
DescriptionI start a new project in DV PAL Widescreen. Then add 16/9 DV files. The preview show the movie in 16/9.

If I export my movie in 16/9 DV AVI, and then reimport in another DV PAL Widescreen project, the added clip is in 4/3 deformed.
Additional InformationKdenlive 0.5 Ubuntu Gutsy.

I experienced the same problem. I noticed that both the timeline and clip monitor preview are wrong. The resulting rendered file is not widescreen.
I use Kdenlive 0.5 on Ubuntu Gutsy.

I am using latest Kdenlive/MLT/FFMPEG SVN and also experience this using NTSC widescreen dv video. It appears to be related to the dv format. Files imported as RAW DV are shown correctly as widescreen 16/9 whereas video imported as DV Type 2 OpenDML are showing as 4/3 with black borders. (Not sure about Type 1 or others).
These were imported with Kino and it is handling both of these correctly as 16/9. I hope to do a little more testing in the next couple days as I am currently putting together a small project in Kino.

I've done some testing and found that files in the RAW DV format (as imported by Kino) do work much better in kdenlive than other formats (Type 1 or Type 2 OpenDML). The RAW DV format shows correctly as widescreen both in the program and as dvd output. Subjectively, I think I have less crashes, but this cannot be confirmed. I am working with NTSC widescreen from a cheap Canon DV camera, using SVN 0.6 from about a month ago(early 04/2008) and the system is Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy. The files were captured with Kino 1.3 using dvgrab 3.1,

I face the same problem. The clips captured in a widescreen project from a widescreen dv movie are compressed to 4/3 after capturing.
I use openSuse 10.3 and kdenlive from packman
