Summary0003309: "Title clip" duration is not consistent (it changes after closing and opening kdenlive)
DescriptionTitle clip duration is not consistent. I created an animated 1-second title clip but, when I use it (and save the project, and exit, and open kdenlive again) it "adapts" itself to the clip duration, effectively changing the scrolling speed (so the title animation lasts for longer).

I suppose this is wrong behavior, because of this note on the manual:

┬źNote: changing the length of the title clip on the time-line does not change the scrolling speed. If the length of the clip on the time line is longer than the duration specified in the title editor, the titles will pause on the screen for the time after the titles duration expires.

If the length of the clip on the time line is less than the duration specified in the title editor the scrolling will not complete before the title clip finishes.┬╗

Package version:
* kdenlive 0.9.8-1
Steps To Reproduce1) Create an empty project (I set 1080p, 30 fps)
2) Add a new title clip, write some text
3) Edit "start" of animation (lower the green rectangle under the text) and confirm
4) add the clip to the timeline (the duration is 5 seconds by default)
5) Extend the clip on the timeline to something like 30 seconds (the video will last for 30 seconds, but the animation correctly lasts for just 5 seconds)
6) Save the project, exit, open kdenlive again, load the project
7) Here's the bug: the animation now lasts for the whole 30 seconds instead of just 5 seconds!
Additional InformationI selected "recent git" as there wasn't a "0.9.8" option.

I selected "major" severity and "high" priority, because currently I cannot make a proper title (and I need to complete this project in 3 days).

As your are in a hurry, there is a quick work-around.
I'm assuming you want the title clip to last 30 seconds and the animation only 5.
Create a title clip with a 5 second duration only and animate it. Place it on the timeline and make sure the timeline cursor is on the very last frame.

Create another title clip with exactly the same text. Click on "show background". Now just drag that text until it is exactly over the final frame of your animation in the background. Save and tag that title clip to the one on the timeline. Make this title clip to the length you require.

Just tried it and it worked fine.

Have a read of [^] which describes how animated titles work and their quirks.

I don't think you will get this problem fixed as there are plans to redo titles altogether in kdnelive.
