|0000641||Kdenlive||MLT||public||2009-02-01 16:31||2009-06-03 07:38|
|Product Version||Recent git|
|Target Version||Fixed in Version||0.7.4|
|Summary||0000641: Audio track playing 25% too fast|
|Description||I'm using the first track «City of Jerusalem» from here:|
http://assassinscreed.us.ubi.com/soundtrack/index.php [^] (Password is Target)
In kdenlive it plays 25% faster than it should.
ffmpeg -i says:
Input #0, mp3, from 'Audio/City of Jerusalem.mp3':
Duration: 00:03:11.63, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 320 kb/s
Stream #0.0: Audio: mp3, 44100 Hz, stereo, s16, 320 kb/s
… which is correct, it should end at 3:11, but does at abpout 2:38.

|Project List View: 2:39 is displayed. If I «edit» it, 3:11 is shown too. ?-)|
Interesting. I've removed the audio clip from the Project List View and the timeline and added it again. now it correctly shows 3:11.
I also had corrupted views, video output and timeline weren't in sync at all (black screen where the video still should have played). Perhaps it was due to the Spacer Tool and is therefore fixed now (I hope). At least I think to remember that I always had the problem after moving content failed™ and I had to re-arrange everything.
There it was enough to remove the clip from the timeline and add it again, I didn't need to remove it completely from the Project List View (as it was necessary with the Audio clip).
Perhaps it is possible to check on startup whether there is something messed up?
I have this problem over and over again. When re-opening the project, the audio clip either only plays until 2:39 with normal speed or, after removing it in the timeline and adding it again, with increased speed.
Ah and sorry, it is a wav file, unlike written above. ffmpeg -i therefore says:
Input #0, wav, from 'Audio/01_City_of_Jerusalem.wav':
Duration: 00:03:11.04, bitrate: 1411 kb/s
Stream #0.0: Audio: pcm_s16le, 44100 Hz, stereo, s16, 1411 kb/s
Dammit. I hate doing the same time again and again (deleting a video, deleting from project content, adding it, putting it to the timeline again).
It usually happens when I change the length of a clip. Not only sound, but also video clip. Looks like length changing is still very buggy.
I can upload some sample clips if it helps.
I'll try to find a way to reproduce the problem.
While working on bug 0000724, I discovered a bug that was triggered when opening a project that had an frame rate different than PAL. I just fixed it and would appreciate to know if it fixed your issue.
Thanks -- much better now! You're great.
One problem is still there however. The speed isn't changed anymore, but the length of the clip is changed; now I have to draw it to the original length again. Which is certainly better than always having to remove the clip completely from the project and then adding it again and so on …
|If I understand correctly, you still have issues with clips having a different length when re-opening a project? Can you describe the steps to reproduce the issue?|
Well, I can only reproduce it in my project. A new project doesn't show the behavoiur.
Actually it is the same as before, with the difference that the speed of the clip is not changed anymore, but the length of the clip is still set to about 75 % of its original length.
I can upload the project file and provide a link to the audio file if it could help.
|Looks like that kind of issue can happen when you change a project's profile to another profile with a different frame rate. One thing you can try is to do a "reload clip" (right click on the clip in the project list). Then save & re-open your project. After that the clip length should work correctly.|

Actually doesn't work, sorry :(
I just open the project, reload the clips as described, correct the length and save. When re-opening, the length is the old one again.
edit: Audio is «Access The Animus» from here:
|Perhaps it would be good to include a check mechanism when opening a project file which checks whether the lengths of the videos correspond to the length noted in the kdenlive project file?|
|Did you change anything since my last post? It is now working perfectly, without any problems. Mark as resolved?|
|not clear exactly when/how this was fixed, but is nonetheless|
